Perissa is a good base to explore- we got buses to fit and Oia for €2. You need to change at first for Oia but its easy. Also hired quad bikes in Perissa to drive to red beach. Having seen crowds on Oia I would rather stay in Perissa. Also we did a volcano cruise which picked up in Perissa. We loved our week. Check out irini bakery for breakfast!
